SAWISE Chairperson: Prof. Anusuya Chinsamy-Turan

Anusuya is currently a Professor in Zoology Department at the University of Cape Town. She has also recently served as the Director of Natural History Collections for Iziko Museums of Cape Town during August 2001- December 2002. She took up the position of SAWISE Chairperson at the start of 2004.

Anusuya has published extensively in a wide range of international journals (including 4 publications in Nature) on mineralised tissue (bones and teeth) of a variety of extinct and extant animals.
