This collaborative project uses the Dutch Reformed mission church as a point of departure. Much of the work looks at concepts of ownership and healing with the artists interpreting and using the materials and installation space in different ways.
References chosen and explored by the four artists are:
- The Biblical reference in John 5 vs 1-15 to the 'Pool of Beth Cheseda' where the sick were believed to be healed by water stirred by an angel's wing.
- Healing and one's responsibility toward it.
- Water rights and its association with ownership in our country.
- Faith and spirituality exercised by the process of 're-consecrating' the building.
