The references are new, but the media is very different. The picnic basket evokes a grave

The work was inspired by events emerging from a desolate and inaccessible farm. It is the story of a lonely woman isolated within family and landscape who crossed into the territory beyond 'sanity'. The work aims to echo this crossed territory by diffusing the boundaries between inside and outside, homestead and wilderness. It includes a picnic blanket, basket and crockery, cast in cement. The deserted picnic site, situated within an abandoned, shuttered house, becomes a memorial to that family tragedy.
