CURRENT BOOKS

bullet Guo, R. Unified Fuzzy Theory with Applications on Quality and Reliability. Since Zahed invented Fuzzy sets concept, hundreds of papers dealing with its theoretical foundation and applications were published. However, a major problem in fuzzy mathematical theory left there undressed: self-duality, which exists in probability theory and critical for a solid mathematical foundation and practical applications. B. Liu (2004) proposed a set of axioms and credibility measure and thus laid fuzzy theory on axiomatic foundation. This book will review the recent unified fuzzy theoretical developments and explore the applications to quality control and reliability field. Book will have four chapters: Chapter one, Axiomatic Foundation for Unified Fuzzy Theory, Chapter two Principles of Fuzzy Quality Control Modelling, Chapter Three, Principle of Fuzzy Reliability Modelling, Chapter Four, Applications and Case Studies, Chapter Five, Fuzzy Stochastic processes Theory in Reliability Engineering.
bullet Guo, R. Grey Theory – Mathematical Foundation, Differential Equation Models and Applications. Since Professor Deng Julong proposed Grey System Theory in 1992, hundreds of successful applications in various fields were reported, particularly grey relation analysis and grey differential equation models. However, Grey Theory was largely placed on philosophical foundations and thus affected its acceptability to scientific and business communities. In this book, we proposed a two-layer axiomatic mathematical foundation based on the incidence calculus, interval analysis, evidence theory, rough sets theory. Then the grey differential equation theory is established on the new axiomatic foundation and its applications are further explored.
bullet Guo, R. and Guo, D. Grey Differential Geometry – Foundation and Applications. The significance of the establishing the mathematical foundation for grey differential geometry is that differential geometry will be one of the focus in modern mathematics in the 21th century and at the same time combining grey data analysis with the theoretical developments in differential geometry will allow to enjoy the mathematical theory powerful applications in physics, chemistry, biology, social science, economics, political science computer science and statistical sciences. Definitely, there is a critical barrier to combine grey analysis and differential geometric theories since intrinsic nature of grey analysis is using the derivative concept in one variable and ordinary differential equations but differential geometric theory engages the usage of partial derivatives and partial differential equations. This book is planning to merge the two fields together to treat sparse data and the various applications.
bullet Guo, R. and Freriches, L. The Philosophical Foundation of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences. This drafted book examines the underlying mechanism of human health based on the whole philosophical foundation. The book challenge certain inefficient and incapable aspects of modern medical sciences, food and drug industries, which cause the deterioration of the quality of human life in general.
bullet Guo, R. The Mathematical Foundation of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences. Traditional Chinese Medicine is largely treated as being empirical and even superstitious in modern society. However, Western medical society does gradually accept some of the traditional Chinese medical treatments, for example, acupuncture, and but intends to “modernize” them under Western medical sciences. This book challenges such fruitless intention and intends to establish a mathematical foundation based on ancient Chinese ancient philosophy and modern approximate reasoning theory.
