Operations Research and Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis
Group
The research group is
committed to encouraging and stimulating the rational use of data in
decision-making, planning and research, both in the public and private
sectors.
We offer:
- advice on the application of appropriate techniques of statistics,
operations research and econometrics;
- seminars and short courses on these techniques;
- in-house courses at the request of specific client institutions;
- software development and evaluation.
Some of the
practical applications with which individuals from the group have been
involved include1:
- An evaluation of the fisheries rights allocation process in South
Africa (in progress).
- An evaluation of the City of Cape Town's water supply and demand
management options
