Yahkat is from Nigeria. She studied Zoology (Bsc Hons) at the University of Jos, Nigeria. Masters in Conservation Biology (Jos), and Theoretical Ecology (Lund). Current PhD topic is the Migration strategy of the Curlew Sandpiper Calidris ferruginea. PhD Supervisor Prof. Les Underhill. In Nigeria, she studied some aspects of the ecology of the endemic rock firefinch Lagonosticta sanguinodorsalis. Was also involved in several bird ringing projects on the Jos Plateau and the Obudu Plateau in Nigeria. Studied the winter ecology of the whinchat Saxicola rubetra in Jos. She enjoys reading and birding. |
