To order stock from SAFRING

Note that our rings and equipment are for sale to registered bird ringers only.

Check availability and prices of our rings and other equipment on our web pages.

Send an email to Maria Nathan mnathan@adu.uct.ac.za, or else send a fax or letter to SAFRING.

List the items and quantities you want to order. Include your ringer's number. The parcel will be posted to the address in SAFRING's database, unless another address is specified.

The order will be posted by insured mail within two days (longer if the ringing assistant is on leave).

If the order is valued at less than R100, however, it will be posted by registered mail and not insured mail.

If you want to receive the order by priority mail (i.e. overnight) this must be clearly specified (you will be billed for the extra postage).

Foreign orders will be posted by registered airmail unless you specify that you would also like it to be insured.

Payment:

Wait for UCT to send a separate invoice.

Post a cheque with the invoice; the cheque must be made out to University of Cape Town.

Payments in foreign currency will be charged bank fees.

Transfer of rings:

Ringers may sell or give their rings and equipment to other active qualified ringers, but must immediately inform SAFRING of the rings transferred. SAFRING does not generally buy back stock but does accept donations of old stock which will be used for training purposes. Ringers may use the ringers listserver to advertise the sale of their old stock.
