SeabirdsRehabilitation of oiled African Penguins:a conservation success story The south-western coasts of South Africa are a global hotspot for oil pollution. This is not due to any unusual local negligence but is mostly a consequence of the structural failure of vessels in the challenging seas along the passage between the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. One of the primary consequences of this pollution is the oiling of African Penguins Spheniscus demersus. A series of spills in the 1960s led to the establishment of SANCCOB. This booklet, published in 2003, desribes how successful SANCCOB has been rehabilitating African Penguins. Its full reference is
