BACHELOR OF MUSIC (Library and Information Science) [HB032]

This programme is intended to qualify music graduates for careers in library and information science and combines a BMus with the Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Science (PGDipLIS). The first three years are spent at the College of Music. Subjects studied include courses in Music Bibliography and Source Materials and Databases and Database Production. In their fourth (final) year students study for the Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Science. On completion both the degree and diploma are awarded. Students may not proceed to the fourth-year curriculum until they have completed all subjects from the first three years of study.
NOTE: The PGDipLIS can follow a first Bachelors degree in any subject.
