Public life

Researching the role and contribution of the Christian churches to public life in South Africa, this research area and its related projects aims at becoming a resource to policy making centres and local communities in strong collaboration and partnership with other institutions and people in church and church-related bodies. The research is linked to the launching of an Honours/Masters course work degree programme - Church and Theology in the Public Sphere - at UCT in 1998. Research results are currently being disseminated in academic articles, ad hoc publications, and The New South African Outlook -- a magazine aimed at the Christian 'intelligentsia'.
