Our academic staff are actively involved in research in their own fields, as well as supervising postgraduate students. Research staff are attached to specific institutes and are often drawn from among our postgraduate students. The Religious Studies Department also enjoys the presence of a number of emeritus professors and visiting lecturers who are not shown here among the permanent staff such as Emer. Prof. John de Gruchy. Staff publications reflect the interdisciplinary orientation of the department, and include work on: religion and society, religion and globalisation, religion and post/modernity, religion and popular culture, gender and religion, religion and violence, religion and representation, and religion and postcolonial theory. Click on a member of staff below to and find out about their research interests as well as selected publications.
