The Western Cape Burden of Disease Reduction Project
aims to develop
an optimal approach to reducing the burden of disease in the Western Cape
by
focussing on interventions targeting upstream determinants of health.
As injuries are one of the main causes of death and ill-health in the
province,
the literature on risk factors for interpersonal
violence and road traffic injuries was reviewed
with a view to providing
policy makers with an
inventory of appropriate interventions.

of the
Western Cape BoD Reduction Project.
Those reports with special relevance to violence prevention included the review of risk
factors
and interventions for
mental health; that for HIV/AIDS;
and the report showing the Western Cape
Burden of Disease estimates.
