Research

There is a commitment to evidence-based practice in all areas of our work.

Research areas cover a wide scope including teaching biosciences, violence against women, violence against nurses, safe motherhood and ARV rollout systems in SA. Due to the diverse disciplines in Nursing and Midwifery, there has been little common ground on which to build a particular research platform. Research output has therefore been individualised.

Staff serve on a variety of peer-reviewed accredited journals.

We host an annual Road to Research Day in collaboration with the Groote Schuur Hospital Nursing Division.
