Postgraduate degree programmes and research activities in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Cape Town are located in the Department of Human Biology.

 

Our primary interests are in medical imaging and signal processing, biomechanics, healthcare technology management and rehabilitation engineering.

 

Students with 4-year/Honours degrees in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science are eligible to enter the MSc programme in Biomedical Engineering. Students with a background in biological sciences who are interested in applying imaging techniques in studying the brain should consider the MSc(Med) in Neuroscience.
