Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is a fast, precise and accurate multi-element analytical technique for the determination of trace elements in a variety of liquid and solid sample materials. The Department of Geological Sciences of the University of Cape Town has been operating an ICP-MS instrument since the end of 1997, and this web site aims to introduce this facility.
