Mduduzi Ndlovu received his BSc (Hons) in 2006. As an undergraduate he spent an internship year working on endangered species; black rhinos, cheetahs and African painted dogs at Chipangali Wildlife Orphanage. In 2006 he was awarded a research grant by Oklahoma Zoo to study Captive black rhino feeding preference for his Honours thesis. He joined the Fitztitute for his MSc in 2007 and later upgraded his studies to a PhD in 2009. From 2007 to mid 2009 he was part of a team (often leading most of the expeditions) that sampled over 5000 Water birds in southern African for Avian Influenza. His MSc studies were funded by Southern African GAINS project and an NRF African Scholarship. In 2010 he was awarded the KW Johnstone scholarship and a bursary from the Centre of Excellence at the Percy Fitzpatrick Institute, to fund his PhD studies.

His current research project is also part of the Southern African GAINS project. For more details on the project, and how you can help, download the PDF on the left.
