About Corlia
Corlia was born in Cape Town
in 1989 and went to DF Malan High School, Bellville, completing grade 12 in
2007. She graduated with a four year degree in Conservation Ecology in the
Faculty of AgriScience at the University of Stellenbosch in 2011.
Corlia's fourth year thesis was on 'The
significance of raptor rehabilitation in the Western Cape, South Africa
(2001-2011)'. This required examining the records of 922 raptors
admitted to a rehabilitation centre near
Stellenbosch over a 10-year period and
analysing the trends and patterns. At
the beginning of 2012 she started her MSc in Zoology at UCT with a project
relating to the conservation of the endangered Bank Cormorant.
Thesis
Testing the influence of heat-stress on the breeding success
of an endangered species: the Bank Cormorant (Supervisors:
Timothée Cook,
Richard Sherley, Les Underhill and
Peter Ryan).
