Wade Lane
Email:

Wade was born and raised in George, Western Cape. Surrounded by the majestic
landscapes and pristine ecosystems of the Garden Route, he has always
expressed a keen interest towards nature. In 2010 he received his BSc in
Ecology and Zoology, and in 2011, his BSc Honours in Botany, both from the
University of Cape Town. One of his honours projects involved studying within
the Kruger National Park, which he regards as his ‘home away from home’. The
aim of the study was to investigate whether ungulate populations would undergo
a change in their feeding behaviour when their savanna ecosystem was supplied
with additional water and nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus). He intends to
continue this project in conjunction with his Masters in Conservation Biology,
by collecting a larger dataset, include additional sites and include several
aspects that had to be neglected because of logistic constraints. He
eventually hopes to study animal behaviour. When not studying, Wade enjoys
hiking and natural photography and maintains interests in gaming, music and
mythology.
