Products developed at the CIGCES CIGCES products are mainly intelligent geoscience databases. These products evolve around the GOndwana GEOscientific Indexing Database (GO-GEOID), a comprehensive geological and mineral resources GIS of the former fragments of Gondwana. The database was initially structured in Intergraph UNIX Environment, using workstations from Intertech Systems Ltd. Today it is also available for other GIS software products (Arc Info, Arcview, Microstation) in the Windows and the NT operating environments.

The Gondwana GIS-Geology and Mineral Resources database is available on CD-Rom for various platforms/software.  CIGCES offers special academic discounts.
Gondwana Metal-Potential GIS.  This is a product under development with BRGM (France) as part of a South Africa-France collaborative program.  The GIS being developed using ArcView software and will be available as a stand-alone CD-Rom (Gondwana Georama) by early 2000.
The Gondwana Geophysics GIS includes of available datasets the DCW and DEM of Africa, integrated with the magnetics, gravity and/or geology of Africa.

The Gondwana Geology-GIS has about 75000 polygons and requires 80 Mbytes hard drive space and 64 Mbytes RAM in a windows environment to run efficiently with a standard GIS software product.  The Gondwana-Minerals-GIS has about 15000 mineral deposits, covering gold, platinum, chromium, vanadium, uranium, thorium, REE, copper, lead, zinc, barium, tin, tungsten.  An anatomy and respective information about their mineralogy, grade., age, host rocks references etc.
