Finally retired as a Senior Specialist in 2001

Former Chief Specialist at Groote Schuur Hospital, who "officially" retired in 1992, but couldn't stay away and was reappointed as a Senior Specialist.

Educated at South African College Schools (SACS) and the University of Cape Town.

His anaesthesia career at Groote Schuur Hospital commenced in 1950 as a registrar, and after periods in Durban and the United Kingdom, returned, and stayed eversince.

Still maintains an active interest in cardiac anaesthesia.
