Leadership Development & Management Training - Introduction

Background

One of the four central objectives of AIMS was "to assess the skills needed for managing the overall institution and its component parts, to upgrade the quality of systems and services, and to implement the requisite training programmes". This objective was addressed in a number of ways by the AIMS project - e.g. the Organisational Design & Governance stream developed a framework of senior leadership accountabilities and responsibilities, Functional Strategic Overview streams included an assessment of required skills for senior positions, and the Human Resources/Employee Relations stream developed a competency-based selection process for application in the University.
